How companies get listed on fintechdatabase.eu.
fintechdatabase.eu is an independent directory of European fintech companies. This page explains how companies get listed, what we will and will not do, and how to reach us.
Most companies in the directory were added editorially — we research and write them because they are relevant to people trying to understand the European fintech market. Companies can also request a listing, and we assess those the same way.
Listing is free. There is no fee to be included, and no fee to stay included.
What we look for:
We generally do not list companies headquartered outside Europe, pre-launch startups without customers, or businesses that are not financial technology companies. Being declined is not a judgement about the company — it usually means the directory is the wrong place for it.
We do not sell listings, placements or rankings. There is no rate card and no media kit. Position in comparison articles is editorial and is not for sale at any price.
We do not publish company-supplied descriptions. Every profile is written independently. If something in a profile is factually wrong, tell us which sentence and we will correct it — but we will not replace it with marketing copy.
We do not sell backlinks, or accept payment for dofollow links, anchor text, or inclusion in articles.
We do not run affiliate or referral partnerships. We cover investment platforms, lenders and crowdfunding sites, including ones that have failed. Taking a commission on referred customers would make that coverage worthless to the people who rely on it.
We would rather be corrected than be wrong. If a profile contains an error — a founding date, a funding figure, a leadership change, an acquisition we missed — email us and we will fix it.
Companies that have been acquired, wound down, or had their authorisation withdrawn are marked as such rather than quietly removed, because that is often the information a reader most needs.
If you would prefer your company not to be listed, email us and we will remove it.
