About

Airline payments are the hardest payments there are, and CellPoint Digital built its entire business on that premise.

A flight booking can involve multiple passengers, multiple currencies, ancillary products sold after the original purchase, changes and refunds months later, interline agreements between carriers, and settlement rules set by IATA rather than by the merchant. The payment does not end at checkout — it continues through offer, order, settlement and delivery, and a generic e-commerce payment stack handles almost none of it well.

CellPoint Digital provides payment orchestration built for that complexity: intelligent routing, fraud logic, support for multiple payment methods, PSPs and acquirers, and settlement capabilities designed for multi-party global operations. The customer base reflects the specialisation, with airlines and travel groups including Virgin Atlantic among its wins, and the company operates across regions where a single carrier may need dozens of local payment methods and several acquiring relationships to sell tickets efficiently.

The strategic trade-off is legible. Deep vertical specialisation means CellPoint understands its customers' problems better than a general-purpose orchestrator ever will, and it means the addressable market is bounded by the size of the travel industry. For an airline, that focus is the reason to choose it; for a retailer, it is the reason not to.
